Bombala Sewer Rising Main

Bombala Sewer Rising Main

ABC were engaged by FB Contracting to install 500m of DN315 Sewer Rising Main on the Bombala Sewage Upgrade Project in regional New South Wales.

The tricky project required the install of the DN315 sewer rising main within the road reserve of Maybe Street Bombala. The congested road reserve had existing communications, high pressure gas, an AC water main, and a dated gravity sewer main between the property line and kerb and channel. This required careful planning of a bore path that did not clash with any of these services or property connections.

The HDD section the pipeline was split into four separate bores with the longest being 145m, more than half of the scope was also installed in rock. ABC’s scope included the excavation of launch and retrieval pits within the asset congested road reserve utilising trench shoring for depths up to 2 metres. HDPE polyfusion buttwelding and electrofusion welding was also managed inhouse by ABC.
