Pound Rd West Upgrade

Upgrade of Pound Rd. ABC were contract to undertake all drainage works in this zone.

ABC Civil Group were the primary drainage contractor for Seymoure Whyte on the Pound Rd West Upgrade in Dandenong South. The drainage package consisted of 1.5km of 375mm and 450mm RCP. Shoring was required to be utilised throughout the entirety of the project due to depths of the installation ranging from 1.5m to 3.0m. The scope of works also involved the installation of 2 x 1050mm RCP on South Gippsland Highway. Due to the work zone still being live to traffic, works were completed on a rotating day and night shift throughout the duration of the project. All drainage on the site needed to be directed to the Melbourne Water drain located in the median of the road. To do this, the connection arrangement consisted of an unorthodox pipe to pipe of a new 375mm RCP to a 1650mm or 1800mm Melbourne Water main. ABC were involved throughout the design and methodology of the scope which was proposed and approved by Melbourne Water.
